We would like to see a Preference to turn off the reminders in Appointments.
In Version 12 (and Summer 2012), the reminder email for appointments is now set to default with no way to turn this feature off. Many of our users do not want this feature and there is no way currently to turn it off.
In Winter 12 release this has been addressed. Last preference is now remembered by Maximizer.

Please vote for this separate suggestion about the Default Reminder Lead Time... http://suggestions.maximizer.com/forums/123601-feature-suggestions-for-maximizer-crm/suggestions/2441546-set-default-alarm-reminder?tracking_code=f6903b212a36cc922f80a88be9423927

What is the status of setting the Default Reminder Lead Time? Or do we need a separate Feature Request for that?

This has been addressed in that it remembers your last selection, whether working in the LAN or Web Client. However, the "Reminder" checkbox still doesn't appear at all on MaxExchange Remote Clients, so a remote user can't tell whether their Reminders are on or off.
However, they can log into the Web Access (if available) and turn this setting off, and this will synchronise to their remote database, so I suppose this is a workaround (if they know about this) but it would make more sense to make the "Reminder" checkbox visible on Remote Clients too.
I haven't had a chance to check MaxMobile yet to see if this option is visible when creating an Appointment on a Blackberry, but my colleague confirmed it wasn't available pre-Winter.
It all comes down to continuity across platforms - it would be much better to have this as an option in the User's Preferences, where all the other options for Calendar/Hotlist are.
Also, there is still no option to set the Default Reminder Lead Time, which is set to 6 hours by default in the Appointment Options. Ideally, this should be a User Preference in the Calendar/Hotlist tab, like the Alarm Lead Time.

Can you not add new features and not have an option to turn it off? That is mad.
This is upsetting a lot of our users, wasting their time and there is not no way to turn it off and ruining their experience.

Connie, one problem is that this checkbox is not visible on a MaxExchange remote database at all. If it can be made visible then I agree it will work as a temporary fix.

I agree with Jenny. Your idea would be fine on a temporary basis Connie, but we need to be able to adjust it in Preferences > Calendar/Hotlist.

Thanks Connie, this could work, but only if it is consistent across ALL platforms (ie: Windows/Web/Mobile/MaxExchange Remote Clients)
It would be better to have it as an option in the User's Preferences, where all the other options for Calendar/Hotlist are.

Thanks for your comments everyone! Would it suffice if we remember the state of selection? ie: It will always follow what you have selected (checkbox on/off) 'last time'?

Clients are not happy that they are suddenly getting email reminders and there is only a manual way to turn this off appt by appt. help....

This new feature is a pain in the neck. I never want to have reminders. Rather than have our company click unecessariy you should just be able to list it as an option to enable it.
I would also like the same ability to "turn it off" in my Remote database.

I want to see two changes related to this:
1. An specific default preference for reminders (no or off).
2. Present the checkbox in the remote database - no reason to hide this. -

I would also like to be able to set the reminders OFF by default. We don't need or want the reminders and shouldn't have to uncheck it for each appointment.

There is also no option in MaxMobile to deselect the reminder. As always, consistency across all clients would be better. Everyone uses Maximizer differently and avid Maximizer users are used to running their lives by checking what's coming up in their calendars thus not requiring the reminder feature.
For those users who are new to Maximizer or infrequent users, a reminder is a great idea but let's sort out some flexibility at the user level rather than per appointment level.

I agree we should have a preference to set to the default behaviour like there is for most other otpions.
Also if you are using MaxExchange to sync the database remote users don't even see the check box. This means that everything created by a remote user will send emails reminders which is very annoying.
